For the Session Long Project in this class, you will be applying the principles of organizational development to an organization you currently work for or have worked for in the past. For this first SLP, think carefully about the background readings and how they might apply to a specific organizational situation or problem that you have experienced firsthand. Then write a 2- to 3-page paper answering the following questions: 1. What do you think the biggest problem your current organization or one of the previous organizations you worked for faces? Why do you think management has had difficulty with this problem? 2. Do you think this problem could be mitigated by hiring an organizational development consultant based on what you’ve read in the background materials? Why or why not? Make sure to cite some of the readings in your answer. 3. Of the action research and organizational development steps listed in the required readings, which ones do you think would be the more challenging steps that an organizational development consultant would face coming into your organization? Explain your reasoning and cite at least one of the required background readings. SLP Assignment Expectations Answer the assignment questions directly. Stay focused on the precise assignment questions; don’t go off on tangents or devote a lot of space to summarizing general background materials. Make sure to use reliable and credible sources as your references. Articles published in established newspapers or business journals/magazines are preferred. If you use articles from the Internet, make sure they are from credible sources. Reference your sources of information with both a bibliography and in-text citations.

Also state any relevant facts or information that differentiate this disorder from others. Application: How does this apply to you? How does this apply to our society?

Read attached file: Dirt Bikes started as a “mom and pop” shop. But the company now has global following and the potential for more. Plus their customers are generally technology-savvy and looking to do business on the web. In this discussion we will look at the needs and opportunities for Dirt Bikes implementing e-Commerce through a web portal. The portal will not only be a point to do business with the company, but could also be an access point for users of the data, information, and knowledge. An intranet version of the portal (limited to employees) could also function as part of a knowledge management solution. As a group, you should discuss the different opportunities for data storage, information collection, knowledge management, and decision support. You should first initially answer these questions: 1. These are two separate responses for the assignments: Healthy Lifestyle Choices- There is an abundance of research that conclusively supports the benefits of the regular physical activity. At the start of each “New Year” there is a tremendous amount of news reports stating the “most recent” health and wellness research. There are even overwhelming amounts of commercials and advertisements for fitness equipment, diet programs, gym memberships; to which target those folks who may have gained a few extra pounds over the holidays, or who perhaps want to start the year off healthier. Strength Training- Some of you may already incorporate a regular strength training exercise program and even make it part of your everyday routine. Programs can involve any combination of free weights, bands, machines, or body weight activities. They can be performed at a light weight/high rep or heavy weight/low rep volumes, simple or compound exercises, with a partner or by yourself. An increasing trend in strength training is the idea behind “Functional Training” (i.e. Bootcamp) and “High-Intensity Training” or HIT (i.e. CrossFit). Both these training activities find ways of including exercises in your workout routines that will compliment your everyday activities. It is similar to sport specific training for athletes but focuses more on the movements that regular people do in their daily lives. The following is a basic format that will be helpful for pulling together the 7-10 page paper that is required for (Internship). Most academic papers follow a similar format, with an introduction, body, and conclusion. Read over what typically goes in each section of the paper. It is much harder to write a paper without an outline. By taking time to sketch out the main points and concepts, you actually save time in the writing phase. More important, you’ll have a better organized and more thorough paper. Remember: “Prior planning prevents poor performance.” I. Introduction The introduction should have some of the following elements, depending on the type of paper: • Start with an attention grabber: a short story, example, statistic, or historical context that introduces the paper topic • Give an overview of any issues involved with the subject • Define any key terminology needed to understand the topic • Quote or paraphrase sources revealing the controversial nature of the subject (argumentative papers only) • Highlight background information on the topic needed to understand the direction of the paper The introduction must end with a THESIS statement (a 1 to 2 sentences in length): • Tell what the overall paper will focus on II. Body • Briefly outline the main points in the paper • Clearly present the main points of the paper as listed in the thesis • Give strong examples, details, and explanations to support each main points • If an argumentative paper, address any counterarguments and refute those arguments • If a research paper, use strong evidence from sources—paraphrases, summaries, and quotations that support the main points III. Conclusion (this will be no more than a paragraph) • Restate your thesis from the introduction in different words • Briefly summarize the main points • Give a statement of the consequences of not embracing the position (argumentative paper only) • End with a strong clincher statement: an appropriate, meaningful final sentence that ties the whole point of the paper together (may refer back to the attention grabber)
