Health Promotion Among Diverse Populations

Analyze the health status of a specific minority group. Select a minority group that is represented in the United States (examples include: American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian American, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander.)
In an essay of 750-1,000 words, compare and contrast the health status of the minority group you have selected to the national average. Consider the cultural, socioeconomic, and sociopolitical barriers to health. How do race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and education influence health for the minority group you have selected? Address the following in your essay:

  1. What is the current health status of this minority group?
  2. How is health promotion defined by the group?
  3. What health disparities exist for this group?
  4. Describe at least one approach using the three levels of health promotion prevention (primary, secondary, and tertiary) that is likely to be the most effective given the unique needs of the minority group you have selected. Provide an explanation of why it might be the most effective choice.

Cite a minimum of three references in the paper.

Business Systems analysis and design

For this project, imagine that you work for a small brick-and-mortar business specializing in designer clothing, shoes, and handbags. Your business offers discounted designer clothing and accessories for men and women. There are two full-time employees and three part-time employees. Currently, the store only has a basic website with a list of a few products, and customers can only purchase items instore. This is a problem because the business is not able to reach customers as easily as its competitors. The business owner has identified the following companies as its primary e-business competitors:
 Bluefly
 Zappos
 Kohl’s
 Macy’s
 HauteLook
 Nordstrom Rack
 Lyst
The ultimate goal of the business is to promote growth with an online presence and become more customer-focused. The business owner wants to streamline the business processes involved in integrating a brick-and-mortar business with an e-business. She is aware that there will be some potential consumer privacy and security concerns associated with this change, and she wants to ensure that company data is protected internally. She also wants to be confident that the business’s suppliers and technology vendors do the same. The business owner is looking for a technology solution that will meet the following key technology requirements: integrating online shopping, managing inventory and shipping, providing order status and online payment processing, facilitating collaboration internally and externally (with staff and customers), managing customer contacts, providing reporting, and being able to use the new technology to manage the current brick-and-mortar processes (sales, payments, inventory, and customer contact). Currently, the physical location struggles with managing customer information and does not have a reporting tool to help management make informed decisions. Your job will be to research three different technologies and the business market competitors that use those technologies, and to make a recommendation on the technology solution that you feel would best position your store to expand its business. Select three of the following technologies to focus on in your business systems analysis paper:
 Big data and knowledge management
 Wireless, mobile computing, and mobile commerce
 Social computing
 Cloud computing
 Business analytics and business intelligence solutions
 Intelligent systems

Philosophy Of Healing Systems

Class,
NCCIH generally uses the term “complementary health approaches”.
Within the majority of other “Healthcare approaches” are other Healing Systems which are complete systems that share common philosophies or basic concepts.

Create a new posting and let’s discuss these underlying concepts or Philosophy of these  Healing Systems which you will find among the assigned readings and the Week One team chart.
Do not list a lot of therapies or types of healing systems. Rather look for the shared concepts or philosophies that are shared among the healing systems.

Instead look at the Common shared concepts which are are core beliefs or foundations for the system.
For example you might discuss:
How is health/illness viewed?
What is the relationship between clients and practitioners?
How are therapies used?
How is the Human Being or client viewed?
In your discussion, one can share how these views are different from Conventional Medicine.
Respond by creating a new thread to this posting, here.  (If you do not create a new thread, you will not recieve credit) ( I will actually post to the thread)
Remember you must also include a reference with this Discussion Thread for full credit.
Also for full credit, the discussion must be on philosophies; not therapies or healing systems.

Roman value system

you learned how the Roman value system was very pragmatic. Pragmatism used in the philosophical sense, is a belief system having various forms, but generally stressing practical consequences as constituting the essential criterion in determining meaning, truth, or value. It deals less with theory as well as idealism and more with practicality. This value of being pragmatic explains what the Roman people saw when they interacted with the world around them. They were interpreting their situation by applying their worldview and living their lives accordingly, just as we do today as we interpret the world around us.
Description of the assignment: List at least 3 of their achievements and explain how each of them expressed the pragmatism of the Romans. Your discourse must indicate that you have an understanding of this value. If you include sources, cite them in current APA format. This assignment must be 250–300 words and must include the word count in parentheses. Submit a draft of your Learning Activity to SafeAssign for feedback a few days before the assignment is due.

communication goals

Module 5: What are your personal communication goals? In this initial post, apply the resources found in the Module 5 Reading and Learning Activities area to your own personal analysis of communication goals and preferences.

This is a short video that summarizes the focus of workplace communication considerations, from a source other than our textbook. Notice how much of the information, even from a different source, reinforces what our text introduces. Use information from BOTH of these sources to complete Discussion #5.
