Individual Counseling Theories

Assignment 2 Instructions
When working with clients/students it is important that we as counselors are purposeful with our words, use of skills, use of techniques, and our exhibited behaviors. Theory is what helps to guide how we conceptualize client situations and work with our clients and students.
Each week, we will introduce you to a small handful of different theoretical approaches. For each weekly assignment (weeks 1-4) you will be provided a case scenario. You will also be offered the opportunity to choose which theoretical approach (covered in class that week) to apply to the case scenario.
Make sure to fully respond to each question and to use the rubric to guide your writing (the rubric is used to determine your grade). Your assignments should be written in accordance with APA 6th edition guidelines and contain two professional sources (your text-book may count as one of your resources). Although there is no minimum page length requirement for this assignment, you will likely write a minimum of five pages to full address all of the prompts. See the assignment template to help you organize your writing.
Presenting Concern/s:
Identify which of this week’s theoretical approaches you will use to conceptualize the case and why.
What do you see as the client’s presenting concerns/basic conflicts?
Based upon the concerns you identified, discuss which you would address first and why based upon the theoretical approach.
One Central Concept of the Approach:
Identify one central concepts of the approach (other than any you previously used to answer the above question) and describe the central concept.
Explain how the central concept is relevant to working with the client or understanding the case.
One Technique:
Identify one strategy or technique you could use with the client and describe the strategy or technique. How would you implement this strategy or technique.
Discuss why you chose the technique for use with this client.
Clarification Note: In your last assignment, I clarified what is considered to be a counseling approach as well as a central concept. Now you are being introduced to the term techniques. Techniques in counseling are formal strategies, often associated with specific theories, in which you may use to assist your clients grow and make changes. For example, if you selected Gestalt therapy as your approach this week, one central concept of the approach is helping client resolve unfinished business. One strategy (a.k.a., technique) you might use to do that could be an empty chair technique (for example, a client with unfinished business with their deceased father may benefit from the empty chair technique to help them resolve their unfinished business).
Strengths and Limitations:
Analyze one strength of the approach for working with the client.
Analyze one weakness of the approach for working with the client.
Reflection:
Provide at least one example of how you could apply any strategy, technique, or concept of this theoretical approach to an area of your life to learn something about yourself personally. Also, explain what you learned.
What challenges did you encounter when attempting to apply an aspect of this theoretical approach to your life? Provide at least one example.
Did you notice any cultural limitations/obstacles to applying this approach to your life? Describe the cultural limitation or explain how the approach is culturally responsive.
Case Scenario
The Case of Sherry
Sherry is a 26-year-old female that comes to see you due to problems she is having living at home with her family. She tells you that she feels dependent both financially and emotionally on her parents and that although she would like to move out and live on her own or with a friend, she is scared. “The world is a scary place and I people are cruel. Everyone is just out to step on everyone else to move up in the world. As long as I am living at home, I am safe, anywhere outside of this house, who know… It is not that I don’t want to leave and get my own place, I do, but there is no way I could find an apartment on my budget in a neighborhood that is safe.” Sherry further explained that she tried moving out once when she was 23, but her apartment was broken into. She was not home during the break-in, she feels that she would never be safe living anywhere on her own again.
Sherry also explained that she currently works as a bar tender. This means that she wants a safe place to come home to, because her shifts often end between 2-4 am. Sherry explains, “I really wish I could get another job. Although the money is good, the hours are horrible, and I know bar-tending can never be anything more than a dead-end job. I have become a flawed human being. I am afraid to sleep anywhere other than my parent’s house, I am stuck in a job with no future, and I am 26 with no skills other than pouring drunk people drinks. I feel worthless, and I will always be a worthless bar-tender that is afraid to move away from home.

Personal Approach to Counseling

Personal Approach to Counseling (Final Project)
The assignment is designed to help you integrate the theories of counseling you have learned to develop a personal approach to counseling. This paper must be written in APA format, typewritten, proofread, and is expected to show evidence of clear thought and application of theory. The paper is due to Blackboard by day 7 of week 5 at 11:59 pm. This paper will be a minimum of 11-pages in length (not including the references page/s or cover page). Suggested page ranges to help guide you are listed for each section of the paper.
In this paper, you will describe your personal approach to counseling and then apply your approach to a specific case.
Is there a template? In week one you were provided a template to help you organize your writing for the week 1-4 assignments. You may have noticed that in addition to formatting the template in APA, we used the assignment instructions to create heading to organize the paper. Next, we copy and pasted the questions that needed to be addressed under each section with screen clips of the rubric. We also suggested that you use transition sentences to begin each paragraph that included some of the same words used in the question that you were addressing in a paragraph. Last, we suggested that after you complete a section that you should review your work against the rubric to ensure you addressed all requirements. For the final project, we would like to see you generalize those same strategies to create your own template to organize your writing for the final project. For example, the below prompts are organized into two major sections with 9 subsections, how might you organize your paper using level one and two headings? The above strategy is a sure-fire way to clearly organize your writing and make sure you do not ever forget to address a question or rubric point.
Personal Approach to Counseling
In this section, you will describe your personal approach to counseling. Please address the following:
Philosophy of Human Nature: Discuss your personal philosophy of human nature (e.g., are humans innately good or bad, what motivates us, what is the cause of stress and suffering, how does change occur, how do we grow, how does wellness occur, how do we function?). Address at least 5 areas of human nature. -suggested 1-2 page in length.
Counselor Role: Discuss what you believe your role to be as a counselor in the following ways:
Discuss the counselor role in terms of qualities important for building a therapeutic relationship (being non-judgmental, demonstrating empathy, unconditional positive regard…etc.). Discuss what role you feel a counselor should play in helping clients/students make changes, work toward goals, and overcoming obstacles. Additionally, address roles that are specific to your preferred future work setting (e.g., clinical counselors and school counselors will certainly share some roles; but, there are other roles unique to each position). -suggested 1-2 page in length.
Theoretical Approach: Select at least three theories of counseling (that you learned in weeks 1-4) that you could see yourself drawing from in your preferred, future, counseling setting. Remember to identify your preferred setting (in-home, outpatient, population, elementary/middle school/high school, etc.). Discuss at least three central concepts of each approach and explain how they fit with your philosophy of human nature and role as a counselor. -suggested 4-5 pages in length.
Critical Evaluation of Approach: Describe the strengths and limitations of your personal approach to counseling. Also address strengths and limitations for working with a culturally diverse population. -suggested 1-3 pages in length.
TIP: Review the rubric while writing each section of your paper. The rubric contains specific information regarding how your responses to the above prompts will be evaluated and scored

playing musical instrument

Do you like music or like playing musical instrument? Well it’s fine if you said yes or no.If your said yes then maybe you would like to join a music program. Some of you might not know what is a music program.A music program is a class that teaches music to elementary students.
Sometimes kids that like music think it would be fair to let every single student into a music class. I don’t think is a bad idea but I disagree.i disagree because, not all kids like music, every single kid in the whole entire universe is different. Not only that  they are in different levels at school.like for example a student in a class is a excellent reader, but another student isn’t really good at reading but good at science. And that’s what I mean by different levels. Because, of that reason not every student can be taken out of class to learn how to play an instrument. Also if every single student has to play an instrument. In order to get good at it you have to practice day after day.and may forget his or her homework.

Even if the world of Digital is disruptive, is communication on the social media platforms and social networks disruptive?

Even if the world of Digital is disruptive, is communication on the social media platforms and social networks disruptive?

Subject Title – Description of the idea:

Even if the world of Digital is disruptive, is communication on the new platforms disruptive? Is the digital communication such as social media marketing, bloggers, lifestyle influencers following the same approaches as the classic communication?
What communication behaviors may facilitate the development of trust between clients and small firms when using social medias as a tool? Why is nowadays social medias and e-marketing considered by most as the 4th power?

The evolution of social media, and how present it is in Businesses today. What can a single click can do? How can you create an empire with a computer/smartphone and wifi?

Content overview:

Digital revolutionized the world. Uber is the biggest Taxis company, without owning a single one. It’s the example of disruptivity in the transport industry. Airbnb is the biggest Hotel company, without owning a single hotel. It’s the example of disruptivity in the hospitality feld. Facebook is the biggest media, without a single journalist. This is also an example of disruptivity in media industry.

Digital field is interesting and fascinating, especially in it’s disruptive dimension. Facebook is disruptive because social medias changed the way we communicate through conventional ways (Text messages, calls, post mails). There is an instant messaging, news are exchanged faster, and it gives the ability to be “on time’, never loose contact and shorten distance.

The biggest challenge of digitization is data. The GAFAs (Google Amazon Facebook Apple) don’t make us pay for the use of these networks, but in fact they get paid essentially throughout our data, that they gather freely. Billions of information feed their AI software.

A benchmark is a best international practice, a reference. For example in the individual transport of people Uber is a benchmark. In billing, American Express is a benchmark. I want to study in detail the digital benchmarks like Amazon, Facebook, Uber, Bla Bla Car … American Express is no longer innovative but remains a benchmark.

Disruptivity : opportunty for new players to come to the market.
Airbnb, is a new business arrived by  new people. It’s a new measury, new people coming here.

– Look at the pyramid of communication and study it
– What is so special about the communication strategy of Redbull?
