Project Topic and Paper Guidelines
Project paper topic and table of contents are due 11:00 PM Wednesday February 7th
.
Submit your topic and table of contents via this assignment drop box. Submissions may be
directly entered into D2L, an attached Word document, or an attached Open Office file.
The topic of your project paper is to be a topic of your choosing, and is related to data
communications. The majority of your paper must present information beyond what is
discussed in class or in the textbook. The goal is for you to have the opportunity to choose a
technical topic, learn about it, and report what you learn. If you are currently working in the
field of data communications, then you may want to write on a topic that will be useful in your
current work environment.
Some example topics from previous works include; net neutrality, government shutdown
of the Internet, cryptography, the last mile, projection of text onto the inside of contact lenses,
data compression schemes, Internet of Things (IoT), networking on the manufacturing floor, and
cryptanalysis. You are not limited to these topics.
Submit a minimum of a seven-line item table of contents for your project paper. This
table of contents is worth ten (10) grade points. If you decide to change your topic after this
date, feel free to do so without penalty, just remember the term project paper is due no later
than 11:00 PM Wednesday, March 7th
.
Your project paper should be no less than 2000 words and no more than 3000 words, as
calculated by Microsoft Word excluding title page, table of contents, index (if any),
bibliography, quotes and cited sources. Please use either double line spacing or one and a half
line spacing, and no less than eleven point font.
If you find you have not coved your topic in 3000 words, then narrow your scope. On the
other hand, if you are not able to write 2000 words on your topic, then broaden your topic. Term
papers submitted with less than 2000 words will be penalized one point for each percentage point
under 2000 words. Correspondingly, papers over 3000 words will be penalized one point for
each percentage point over 3000 words.
Each line item of your table of contents is to be a sub-heading in the body of your
project paper. Project papers submitted without a table of contents and matching subheadings
will automatically be penalized 25 grade points. Feel free to alter your table of
contents in the final project paper.
Use at least three sources exclusive of the chapter notes and textbook. It is okay to use the
chapter notes and textbook as a source, but they will not be considered as one of the three required
sources. Most of you will use the Web and trade magazines as sources, but results from an
interview with a real live person involved in the discipline are very desirable and qualifies as a
source. Three sources are rarely sufficient for a reasonable paper, though, so expect to use
many more. Qualify your sources. Wikipedia is OK as a source, but find corroborating sources.
PCC subscribes to a number of on-line magazines and books, so consider using them. The
magazines on line will be a real time saver. Especially consider Master file, which is also found
Project Topic and Paper Guidelines
starting from the PCC library site listed above and selecting Databases A-Z. Use your G number
to access these services. When using the textbook or chapter notes, be sure to also include them in
your bibliography.
Use the MLA style for citing your sources. Number your sources and indicate within the text
where you are using those sources. Put your sources at the end of the paper. Make your
method of citing sources clear. www.google.com is not a source, it’s a search engine.
www.wikipedia.com is not a source, it’s a database. You can specify pages in Wikipedia as a
source. http://www.wimaxforum.org/ is not a source; it’s a portal page to a web site. There
may be a page on that web site that you can use as your source. Your source must be specific
to the document you are referencing. Use the MLA format as a guide. This is not a writing
class, so you will not be graded on the accuracy of the MLA format, but your source reference
must be clear.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in a grade of zero (0) on the term paper. In
addition to the outright copying of prepared text, plagiarism includes the act of copying and
pasting small snippets of text without citing the source. The project paper must be a written
expression in your own words that accurately represents your own thoughtful understanding,
opinions, and recommendations of the subject material. Remember, using another’s words to
discuss your topic does not relate your understanding, opinion, or recommendation of the
subject material.
Sometimes students will use a strategy of accurately quoting and citing sources to an
extent where their paper becomes a series of multiple and often large quotes tied together
with a simple transition sentence or two between the quotes. Technically this is not plagiarism
but neither is it a term project paper. Your paper must reflect your understanding, analysis,
and/or recommendation of the subject material. Use cited quotations to substantiate your
thoughts, but do not make cited quotations the bulk of your paper.

Evaluating the Strategic Implications of External Environment Analysis
Strategy and Innovation
Unit 4: Evaluating the Strategic Implications of
External Environment Analysis
In the prior three units, you have examined the fundamentals of strategic thinking and strategic
choice analysis. Now, you will be moving into a new, more detailed layer of strategic thinking that
will help you develop a more robust set of analytic skills.
In this unit, you will continue to apply strategic management decision-making tools in an effort to better
understand the various intersecting contexts from which strategic choices must be made. The specific
focus in this unit will be on the organisation’s external influences:
General external ecosystem, which includes identifying the most comprehensive set of
stakeholders and understanding how these stakeholders and the potential impact of broad political,
economic, social and technological forces can shape future strategic opportunities and threats
1.
Competitive environment, which includes analysing the core forces of rivalry and direct
competition, supply chain and customer influence, and industry entry, exit and substitution (also
known as five forces analysis and red ocean competition)
2.
Learning Objectives
Students will:
Analyse an organisation’s long-term prospects using environmental scanning
Analyse threats and opportunities within the general stakeholder and competitive environment of an
industry
Evaluate relevant critical implications of external environment strategy analysis
Learn
In this unit, you will identify and explore the implications of major political, economic, social,
technological, legal and environmental forces (sometimes called PESTLE analysis) along with
demographic analysis. You will also identify and explore the implications of a comprehensive
stakeholder analysis, and identify and evaluate the primary implications of the competitive
ecosystem through the completion of a robust five forces analysis.
General Ecosystem Analysis
The general ecosystem for business activity is illustrated in Figure 4.1 (Schulz, 2012):
Figure 4.1: General ecosystem of business
This chart illustrates that the organisation operates within a permeable boundary that is loosely called
an ‘industry’. It competes beyond that boundary, within the larger, general ecosystem – as do all
industries. The ‘outer ring’ of this chart illustrates what might be called ‘general forces’, which
influence and affect all businesses in an economy and which are shaped by large-scale behaviours
and beliefs, such as politics, economics, societal values and ethics, technology, demographic
changes, future trends and legal constraints. It is useful to catalogue and analyse how the general
forces affect an industry and the business you are studying, as these forces limit or enhance strategic
choices.
Note, within the general ecosystem, that businesses and organisations exist within a complex web of
interdependent stakeholder relationships. A PESTLE or ScanStep© analysis, although helpful in
defining some basic elements of the environment, is a good starting point but is insufficient.
Rather, one must supplement the PESTLE or ScanStep© analysis by examining how specific
stakeholder relationships can moderate and mediate the performance options and frontiers of an
organisation. These relationships must also be examined systematically and in depth, as Pitt and
Koufopoulos (2012) and Eccles and Serafeim (2013) suggest.
Finally, as Porter notes, it is also, ‘in essence, the job of the strategist is to understand and cope with
competition’ (2008:2). This competition derives from direct rivals that seem to be much like the
organisation and that seek the same customers. It also derives from indirect rivals, such as potential
new entrants or innovative substitutes provided by organisations outside the traditional industry
boundary and by wholesale new offerings from organisations pursuing blue ocean strategies, as
discussed by Kim and Mauborgne (2004).

company strategy. Porter is a professor at Harvard University Business School.
Discuss
The goal of this unit’s Shared Activity is to help you become proficient at identifying critical
external general forces. These forces include stakeholder interests and needs, and specific
competitive forces which shape the ecosystem of the organisation and which provide a ‘contour’
for strategic action through the analysis of a large-scale, industry-level examination.
Shared Activity: Mapping and Evaluating the General External Ecosystem of an Industry-Economic
Sector
This fourth unit offers one assessment – an online discussion or ‘Shared Activity’, taking place
on the Discussion Forum. This is worth 10% of the overall module grade. Your initial post
should be completed by Day 7 of this unit.
In this Shared Activity, you will conduct research and perform critical analyses of the general external
ecosystem, including a detailed stakeholder analysis, of the organisation that you are studying as part
of your Project for this module. You will examine and probe the work of your peers, and then offer
potential critical directing questions and specific and constructive ideas for improving your peers’ work.
To prepare for this Shared Activity:
You are required to make an initial post to the Shared Activity by Day 7.
Review the Readings and, in particular, examine the ScanStep© framework in Pitt and Koufopoulos
(2012:Chapter 2).
Review the ‘Tools for Tracking Your Strategic Thoughts’ document, and consider how to best deploy
these tools. You are not required to use the pre-designed templates but you will be responsible for a
robust and complete analysis with implications clearly stated.
To complete this Shared Activity:
By Day 7:
Write a 500-word post:
Conduct a thorough and well-argued general external ecosystem analysis for the industry of the
organisation you have chosen.
Be sure to explain what the strategic implications of your analysis are and how the set of
implications limits or shapes your strategic recommendations.
Be sure to identify specific future strategy actions and recommendations based on your
evaluation of options and to provide a basic defence of why your recommended actions are the
most appropriate.
Conduct a thorough and well-argued stakeholder analysis for the industry of the organisation you
have chosen.
You may want to attach either a worksheet or other table or visual as part of your analysis.
Note: Be sure to support your postings with evidence from the Required Readings and other current
literature from the University of Roehampton online library and other credible sources. Consult the
Harvard Referencing Style Guide for proper citation and referencing information.
Two Follow-on Posts:
You are required to make two follow-on posts by Day 14
Respond to at least two colleagues’ posts by probing the work of your peers, and then offer potential
critical directing questions and specific and constructive ideas for improving your peers’ analyses.
You should aim to engage with and extend the academic discussion in a sensitive and professional
way. Aim for at least two (2) posts of minimum 200 words each.
Guidance and Rubrics
Please note that confidentiality of information discussed in Shared Activities cannot be guaranteed.
Therefore, please do not include identifying details of actual individuals or organisations in your
responses.
Participate in this Shared Activity only during the period of this unit to ensure that you and your
colleagues can keep track of one another’s postings and maintain a focused, collaborative discussion.
Review the Shared Activity Rubric for information on how your contributions to the Shared Activities
will be graded in this unit.
The following two resources provide a detailed marking rubric that breaks down the constituent
element for this assessed Shared Activity, and general guidance for participation in Shared Activities.
These are important documents in preparing you for success in this activity.
Rubric
If you haven’t already downloaded the rubrics from the Module Overview page, you can
download them here. This single document contains the rubrics for all module assignments.

Looking Ahead
In this unit, you reviewed the concept of the general ecosystem of business by using a model provided
in the unit. You performed a five forces analysis, using Porter’s concept, applying this to your selected
organisation, which contributed to your preparation and completion of Section 4 of your Business
Strategy Report.
In Unit 5, you will use tools to evaluate the skills, competencies and capabilities of your selected
organisation. You will use this data to grade the organisation’s strategic resources. You will also work
on and submit your Unit 5 Project.
Industrialization After the Civil War Final Paper
Assignment 1.2: Industrialization After the Civil War Final Paper
After the Civil War, the United States became a much more industrialized society. Between 1865 and 1920, industrialization improved American life in many ways. However, industrialization also created problems for American society. Consider events that took place after the Civil War and discuss ways that industrialization affected the U.S. between 1865 and 1920.
You have already developed a thesis statement and developed an outline in which you identify three main points relevant to your topic. Now you will develop the final paper in which you explore your main points in detail.
Prompt: Discuss three (3) major aspects of industrialization between 1865 and 1920. Identify three (3) specific groups that were affected by industrialization and provide two examples for each group describing how the group was affected.
Key Themes:
- United States industrialization improving and creating problems for American society
- Society, the economy, and politics
- Issues such as race, ethnicity, gender, and child labor
- How industrialization affected the life of the average working American during this period
- Events that took place after the Civil War
Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:
- Introduce your paper with your previously crafted thesis statement.
- Discuss three (3) major aspects of industrialization between 1865 and 1920. In your response, consider society, the economy, and politics.
- Identify three (3) specific groups that were affected by industrialization and provide two examples for each group describing how the group was affected. (Consider issues such as race, ethnicity, gender, child labor, etc.)
- Summarize how industrialization affected the life of the average working American during this period. Use specific examples and details.
- Use at least three (3) academic references besides or in addition to the textbook. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.
Safety, quality and informatics in nursing
Preparation
As you prepare for this assessment, complete the following:
Before you begin, examine your organization’s history of safety in a specific area and how your organization addresses patient safety issues. If possible, consult with a key stakeholder in the organization (such as an administrator) to better understand specific patient-safety concerns and how the organization is working to resolve the concerns. This person should also be able to discuss some of the organizational barriers impacting the patient safety issue.
Next, look at the basic concepts, principles, and practices that contribute to organizational quality improvement and patient safety. Review the literature for best practices and how technology might be used to improve the issue.
Finally, be sure to consider the legal and ethical implications associated with the safety issue, as well as possible organizational barriers to change.
Directions
As you construct this assessment, address each point as completely as possible:
Describe a patient-safety issue within your organization.
Compare the way your organization addresses patient-safety issues with the concepts, principles, and practices that contribute to quality improvement and patient safety.
Analyze the legal and ethical consequences of not addressing the issue.
Recommend evidence-based interventions to address the patient-safety issue.
Explain how technology can be used to improve the issue.
Identify possible organizational barriers to change (budget, vision, technology, et cetera).
Describe strategies to overcome organizational barriers to change, based on your knowledge of the organization.
Additional Requirements
Format: Include a title page and reference page. Use APA style and formatting.
Length: Ensure your completed assessment is 8-10 pages in length, not including the title page and reference page.
References: Cite at least five current scholarly or professional resources.
Font: Use double-spaced, 12-point, Times New Roman font.
.
Describes a patient-safety issue and explores likely causes of the issue.
Evaluates currently used organizational processes for handling patient safety issues in terms of the evidence-based concepts, principles, and practices that contribute to quality improvement and patient safety.
Analyzes the legal and ethical consequences of not addressing patient-safety issues and describes the impact on the organization from a financial and regulatory perspective.
Recommend evidence-based interventions to address specific patient-safety issues.
Evaluates evidence-based interventions to address specific patient-safety issues to determine the most appropriate intervention for the organization and the safety issue.
Analyzes how technology can be used to improve patient safety.
Identifies organizational barriers to change and explores the factors within the organization that created the barriers.
.
Analyzes strategies to overcome organizational barriers to change and determines the most effective strategies to use for a specific organization.
Writing is coherent, using evidence to support a central idea in a consistently appropriate APA format, with correct grammar, usage, and mechanics as expected of a nursing professional
Oepidus Rex Response Paper
Oedipus Rex is a story of fate versus free will. Do you think that Oedipus has the freedom to shape his own future? Do any of us? Write a 450-550 word response paper in which you address this question. Be sure to incorporate specific references to the play and to follow MLA formatting (including a header, a title, double-spaced, and Times New Roman 12).
Increase in cyber crimes effect on intelligence anayst
I need the literature review portion of the paper to be written. I already have the majority of the paper done and will attach. Please only request this paper if you are familiar with the topic. A Min. of 10-15 sources will be needed. Please see below for more instructions.
Your literature review should provide a broad overview of the research that is important to your study. This section of your thesis should begin with a few introductory paragraphs where you frame the research topic and its significance. To do this you will need to summarize all of the major relevant arguments on the research subject, highlighting the main issues and how the various schools of thought differ. If there are key terms to define the reader should do that here. This section should be organized thematically, so rather an discuss one source within a paragraph you would organize your paragraphs around themes or arguments within the literature. For example, if deterrence theory is important to your research (either it is the main theory in use, or parts of it are important to your research) you would discuss this concept using a variety of references that help demonstrate the scope of knowledge surrounding this theme.
The sources you use within your paper matter greatly to the overall credibility of your research. For this reason a majority of your sources should be coming from peer-reviewed articles, scholarly texts, or other appropriate sources an websites.
The literature review is NOT an annotated bibliography or a “laundry list” of reviewed articles. You should not be dedicating a paragraph or more to each source you consulted. Instead the literature review, should capture and synthesize the issues in the research topic. At the end of this review, you should explain how your study will fit into this larger body of research that has already been carried out. What research gaps will you help try and fill? What unanswered questions will you take into consideration? Are you looking at this question using a different theoretical lens? All of these questions are something that your literature review should answer. Ultimately you want to take time to remind readers of the importance of your research.
One thing to keep in mind as you proof read your literature review is that any information that is specific to your study’s findings should be discussed within the “Analysis & Findings” section of your thesis. Within your literature review you should be focused on discussing the following:
•Prior research that has attempted to answer your question.
•Prior research that is important to understanding your research question or topic area.
•Prior research that explains your theoretical framework.
•Prior research that uses your theoretical framework to answer a different research question (this shows how the theory has been utilized in the past and how it can be harnessed within your study).
•How your theoretical framework will be used to help you answer your question (keep in mind that the theory(or theories) you use within your research do not have to be a perfect fit. In your findings and analysis section you would discuss how well it helps you answer your question).
Your literature review should be 12-18 pages in length and use Turabian “author-date” styles references throughout. The only sources that should appear on your reference list are those that you referenced within the literature review itself.
For this assignment, you will write an original science fiction short story based on the guidelines and parameters described

Internship report
There is a reflective report about the internship ( that I was not actually doing). The request is to develop a story how did I spend an internship in a small Burger Cafe, where I was responsible for marketing ( instagram, facebook, promotion, magazines, posters) , purchase (self-driving for the purchase like vegetables, meat, and ordering seafood, shrimps, bread ), events ( like master classes from our chef), and re-imaging the menu, recommending and developing new dishes. My position was assisting the manager.
I have attached the contract, first, it says in Russian, then in English.
Please let me know if you can make it within 2 days and if you can think out the working experience in the cafe.
Philosophy of Leadership
You will write a 1-2 page philosophy of leadership (or equivalent via video/song/poem/etc…) that articulates your personal view of how you want to lead in your current life or how you anticipate leading in the future. Feel free to be as creative in the format as you would like. There is no specific template for this assignment. Rather, it should represent your thinking about your own leadership style.
However, your philosophy should connect in at least three clear ways to our textbooks, readings, and/or discussions.
