International Business
This drop box is where you submit your APA paper.
Structure:
Here are a few helpful hints before you submit. Make sure you are following the APA 6th edition
manual, no pictures on the cover page or large font, make sure you have a header, and meet
the minimum word count 1,000 words. Please do not go over 1,300 words. Your paper must
have a minimum or five references and citations of which three must be from an academic
database, such as EBSCO, visit the IRSC library online or physically visit the building and have
staff help you.
Look at the sample paper provided and make sure you follow the same format and
structure. Do not deviate from the example paper. Your title and reference page must
look the same.
References and Citations:
Remember the “Reference Page” is located at the end of your paper and citations in the body of
your paper.
This is a lot of fun and helps you understand how to use supportive information to back up your
point.
Resource:
The library is available if you need help, also contact the professor, do not rely on past
professors, each has their own focus. Use the APA 6th Edition manual for guidance.
Grading:
You will be graded on the structure, content and references, so make sure you follow the APA
format and watch your grammar. Also make sure the topic is relevant to the course.
Do not use a paper in two courses, do not use past papers, you may however cite a pass paper
you wrote just as you would reference someone else’s work.
Here is your APA paper topic:
1. How important is understanding; demography, culture, ideology and history of people

Detailed Reflection-text review
Please watch/listen
“Broken WindowsLinks to an external site.” from Hidden Brain, aired May 29, 2017
In the early 1980s, a couple of researchers wrote an article in The Atlantic that would have far-reaching consequences. The article introduced a new idea about crime and policing. It was called Broken Windows. The idea was simple: A broken window is a sign of a neglected community, and a neglected community is a place where crime can thrive. The researchers said, if police fixed the small problems that created visible signs of disorder, the big ones would disappear. Today, we explore how ideas sometimes get away from those who invented them… and then are taken to places that were never intended.

After you have completed the required 8 labs, you may complete up to an additional 4 (four) labs for extra credit, if desired.
Ethical Dilemma Essay
Ethical Dilemma Essay (1,500 words)
Students are to identify and discuss an business-related ethical dilemma. Ideally, this choice should be
relevant to your intended area of future employment. You must demonstrate both an awareness of the
key issues surrounding why it is an ethical dilemma, and then propose solutions to that dilemma. A
suggested format for the essay is:
• Ethical Dilemma Description (300 words)
• Justify why it is an ethical dilemma in a business situation (600 words)
• Ethical solutions proposed by the student to this dilemma (600 words)
Part of the learning experience of this essay is for you as the student picking and developing the dilemma
yourself from either a relevant recent news event, personal professional practice experience (particularly
for students who have been on placement) or similar.
• Students are strongly advised to read the marking criteria sheets (at the end of this document)
very carefully to gain an understanding of exactly what the examiner will be looking for, and
marking against.
• You should not use an ethical dilemma that we have discussed in detail during a class or has been
analysed in a textbook or website; this is your ethical dilemma, which you have developed, which ideally
relates to your career aspirations (After graduating from business management at university, I wanted to return to my country and take over my father’s business career).
Identity Mind Map
Create a mind map to visually represent my identity formation from adolescence to the present time. To begin your mind map, select one word that best defines your adolescence—this word will be at the center of your map. You will then branch off from this word with the feelings, behaviors, or thoughts that stemmed from this word to lead you in forming your identity. Please also include in your map words that indicate how these defining words have been impacted by your faith development.
You may be creative with this assignment by using visual indication of more or less significant words (i.e. using larger fonts, bold letters, images, etc.). This assignment may be done electronically or by hand, but if done by hand, must be scanned as a PDF file to be uploaded to the course.

Article writing essay
- The main body of essay should be between 900 and 1000 words, excluding the required annotated bibliography.
- The essay needs to be in MLA format.
- It should include an Annotated Bibliography instead of a works cited list (see the end of this assignment for an example of an Annotated Bibliography)
- You must use at least 5 sources, and at least 3 must be from peer reviewed sources
- see this video and Ch. 2 of the textbook for more information on what it means for a source to be peer reviewed: .
- the best way to find peer reviewed sources is to use the databases available through the APUS Library; when you open the Library’s main page, click on the “Advanced Search” link at the bottom of the “Articles and Databases” box. On the next page that comes up, make sure to check the “Peer reviewed publications” box before running your search.
Choosing a Topic: You must use the topic you proposed on the Week 4 quiz, which must have a specific point of debate, clear public-realm stakes, and a narrow scope. A quick way to accomplish this is to choose a topic from the current bills making their way through the US Congress (see GovTrack.us for the US Congress Bills Tracker) or a state legislature.
Note: Consider your audience as laymen in the field with only general knowledge of your topic.
Organize your essay into the expected sections for an academic essay (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion), and make sure to also include all the elements of Toulmin form (your claim and support, an unbiased discussion of the opposition’s claim and support, you rebuttals of their claims, and qualifiers/concessions/warrants & backing as necessary).
After you have written your essay, please make sure to revise the content of your essay. Lastly, be sure to edit your essay by checking grammar, format, and smaller technical details. Please make sure your essay is written in third person.
The Annotated Bibliography
An annotated Bibliography (AB) is due with your Toulmin essay. Using the MLA guide, list each source as it will appear on the Works Cited page of your essay. Summarize each source in two or three grammatically-correct sentences. These short summaries are the “annotations.” The following is a sample of an “annotated bibliography.”
