challenges leaders and managers face

After addressing the challenges leaders and managers face regarding diversity in M6: Assignment 1, let us focus on how leaders and managers might abuse power in dealing with a diverse workforce. Consider the role cultural stigmas play regarding how leaders and managers communicate with and react to a diverse workforce. Consider the importance of diversity training for leaders, managers, and employees. Further, consider how sociocultural factors related to leaders, managers, and employees help or hinder functionally effective communications. Finally, there is the ethical consideration of determining whether a leader or manager’s use of power to gain compliance is acceptable.
Using the module readings and the Argosy University online library resources, research the ethical implication of cultural abuse. Based on your research, respond to the following:

  • Explain the ethical implications of cultural abuse of leader/manager power. Your response should not simply state whether cultural abuse of power is ethical or unethical but also include the underlying theoretical premise that justifies your position as well as personal experiential examples.
  • Briefly discuss how diversity might influence (hinder or aid) such abuse.
  • Research your textbook as well as appropriate trade journals and academic peer-reviewed journals to support your arguments.

Write a 3–4-page paper in Word format. Note: The title page, references, and appendices are not included in the page count.
Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Click here to download the APA Guide. Use this guide to format your assignment.
Write your responses in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation per APA (6th edition) standards.

By the due date assigned, deliver your assignment to the Submissions Area.

types of diversity

In this assignment, you will build upon your response to the Required Assignment (RA) in Module 4. You will continue your case study of your chosen organization.
Scenario: Now that you have defined the problem, use behavioral theory constructs to explore how organizational teams might affect the change effort.
Instructions:

  • Discuss factors of diversity including various types of diversity likely to be encountered in the organization.
  • Identify actual ethical perspectives/approaches within the organization. (Note: Do not identify that something is simply ethical or unethical.)
  • Explain how factors such as offshoring and outsourcing may lead to employee fears and uncertainty.
  • Discuss how all the previous three items (i.e., diversity, ethics, and offshoring/outsourcing) may lead to conflict individually and in teams. Include the specific types of conflict that may be present. How might even individual conflict affect a team’s performance? Is there a systemic component to this consideration, and if so, how?
  • Recommend a manner to minimize, or perhaps alleviate, such fears and uncertainty.

Write an 8–10-page, well-argued case paper in Word format. Be sure to include a summary section. Note: The title page, references, and appendices are not included in the page count.
Apply APA standards to citation of sources. The course book, the trade journal(s) noting the problem, as well as peer-reviewed journal articles are to be used to support your position and theoretical constructs. General Internet sources will not be accepted as references. Click here to download the APA Guide. Use this guide to format your assignment.
Write your responses in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation per APA (6th edition) standards.

Database and Programming Design

Project Deliverable 3: Database and Programming Design
Due Week 6 and worth 150 points
This assignment consists of two (2) sections: a design document and a revised Gantt chart or project plan. You must submit both sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the section of the assignment for which it is written. Additionally, you may create and / or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.
One (1) of the main functions of any business is to transform data into information. The use of relational databases has gained recognition as a standard for organizations and business transactions. A quality database design makes the flow of data seamless. The database schema is the foundation of the relational database. The schema defines the tables, fields, relationships, views, indexes, and other elements. The schema should be created by envisioning the business, processes, and workflow of the company.
Section 1: Design Document
1. Write a five to ten (5-10) page design document in which you:
a. Create a database schema that supports the company’s business and processes.
b. Explain and support the database schema with relevant arguments that support the rationale for the structure. Note: The minimum requirement for the schema should entail the tables, fields, relationships, views, and indexes.
c. Create database tables with appropriate field-naming conventions. Then, identify primary keys and foreign keys, and explain how referential integrity will be achieved.
d. Normalize the database tables to third normal form (3NF).
e. Create an Entity-Relationship (E-R) Diagram through the use of graphical tools in Microsoft Visio or an open source alternative such as Dia. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length but must be included in the design document appendix.
f. Explain your rationale behind the design of your E-R Diagram.
g. Create a Data Flow Diagram (DFD) through the use of graphical tools in Microsoft Visio or an open source alternative such as Dia. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length but must be included in the design document appendix.
h. Explain your rationale behind the design of your DFD.
i. Create at least two (2) sample queries that will support the organizational reporting needs.
j. Create at least two (2) screen layouts that illustrate the interface that organizational users will utilize.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
  • Include charts or diagrams created in MS Visio or Dia as an appendix of the design document. All references to these diagrams must be included in the body of the design document.

Section 2: Revised Gantt Chart / Project Plan
Use Microsoft Project or an open source alternative, such as Open Project, to:
2. Update the Gantt chart or project plan (summary and detail) template, from Project Deliverable 2: Business Requirements, with all the project tasks.
The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Describe the various integrative functions and processes within the information systems area, including databases, systems analysis, security, networking, computer infrastructure, human computer interaction, and Web design.
  • Demonstrate the ability to evaluate organizational issues with integrative technological solutions.
  • Apply integrative information technology solutions with project management tools to solve business problems.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in information technology.
  • Write clearly and concisely about strategic issues and practices in the information technology domain using proper writing mechanics and technical style conventions.

theory analysis

Use the viewer response  theory of “Rasa”  and the theory of “Darsana” to  discuss  if there is a deeper exploration of human emotion  in this art piece? According to Frithjof Schuon, the  profoundest of all effects upon those who experience art is the measure of all sacred art—does it  lead to interiorization? Does it help to collect all thoughts, dispel distraction and lead to Interiorization? Discuss giving examples.
