The student has not understood, and/or has not critically discussed (using relevant subject and research methodology literature where appropriate), one or more of the issues raised in the feedback on the research proposal. The student has critically discussed, using relevant subject and research methods literature where appropriate, the issues raised in the feedback on the research proposal.

The student has specified and justified the steps they have taken, or will take, to address the issues raised in the feedback on their research proposal.
In undertaking the reassessment, you should NOT resubmit your research proposal. You need to critically discuss the issues that are raised in the feedback on your research proposal. To pass, you will need to:
• Show that you understand the feedback
• Critically discuss the issues raised by the feedback using relevant texts / articles on research methodology
• State what you will do, and provide adequate justification for, the steps you have taken, or will take.
• Review what you have learnt in the process of reviewing the feedback.
Note
The process of reading / responding to feedback on research proposals, and other written work, is called ‘peer review’. In effect, your research methods tutor(s) are providing you peer-review feedback to which you need to response. This process is widely used in academic circles to improve the quality of work published in journals.
