Conflicting Viewpoint Essay Part 1

The following paper based on the certain issue of the believing game which resists the biases to provide reasons for opposing view from an own point of view (Elbow,2006).The issue of concern is “Should animal used for scientific testing.” By the believing game that animal can use for the testing purpose. The paper based on the study of believing and opposing arguments on the topic.

Approximately 26 million animals across the world are used for the scientific test. Animal testing is generally to ensure the safety of the animal product for human, develop the medical treatment. And other healthcare used. The fact of a scientific test of animal for life-saving which should be supported as no alternative method and may ways and some of animal s are very similar to human.

A scientific test of animal has a different opponents view. The first reason is testing animal only the cruelty of the animals. Cording to the view of opponents, other alternatives are available to research.Thirdly, It is an opposing reason that animals are different from human.

According to biomedical research association, since past 100 years, the animal testing very helpful to save human life. For example, a test of hepatitis C in chimpanzees was succeeded to save a more human life.If the test is happening to save human life, there shouldn’t be any offense.

Firstly, it should ensure animal life will be saved after testing and less harm after the test.If there is an alternative source for testing, scientists will not use an animal.

The scientific test is based on purpose to save our lives, not for any commercial benefits. If animal testing is a purpose for commercial benefit, then it is ethically and morally wrong as a human being.

Behavioral Health Response to Disasters

Disaster Discussion 5

TEXT:

Reading
1. Behavioral Health Response to Disasters, Author: Framingham, Julie:
Forum Assignment for the Week: 300 Words minimum For this week’s Forum, respond to the following:   On September 11th, 2001, the United States was the target of terrorists, suffering mass casualties, including thousands of lives lost as an immediate result of the terrorist attacks and many more to follow for years to come. Casualties not often thought of immediately are the psychological casualties of such an event, particularly those who may not have been involved in the tragic events first hand. However, Hoffman and Kruczek (2011) share a perspective worth considering in the discussion of the effects of terrorism, highlighting random survey results that indicated media exposure to the terrorist attacks revealing endorsements of PTSD by about half of surveyed adults, with one third restricting television access due to the traumatic nature of the event.
· Considering the materials for the week, share your thoughts on the effect of media exposure to images from terrorist events. Should these be viewed as the new normal?
· Do significant concerns related to the psychosocial development and functioning and potential of adverse reactions, such as the development of PTSD, exist with these types of indirect exposures to terrorist events?
Remember to respond to at least three classmates during the week in the discussion forum.

General Instructions Applicable to All Forums:
Forum post source citation is not required for forum posting in our class.  This is because we are engaging in conversation that happens to be in writing form, not composing essays or research papers. You will, however, need to paraphrase (restate in your own words) any words of published authors in parts of your posts that are based on their work.  Copying of published material, which is plagiarism, is prohibited and any instances of it, including forum posts, will result in a zero score without an option for re-submission to recoup lost points and a report sent to the Registrar’s Office per University policy.

Discussion forum posts will be graded on verbal expression, critical thinking, making an effort to not just participate in but contribute to the dialog with initial and reply posts of a substantive nature commensurate with graduate level studies. Posts must have correct grammatical construction, spelling, and punctuation with no texting or other casual style language.

accurate identification and application of research-Literature Evaluation

In nursing practice, accurate identification and application of research is essential to achieving successful outcomes. Being able to articulate the information and successfully summarize relevant peer-reviewed articles in a scholarly fashion helps to support the student’s ability and confidence to further develop and synthesize the progressively more complex assignments that constitute the components of the course change proposal capstone project.
In nursing practice, accurate identification and application of research is essential
For this assignment, the student will provide a synopsis of eight peer-reviewed articles from nursing journals using an evaluation table that determines the level and strength of evidence for each of the eight articles. The articles should be current within the last 5 years and closely relate to the PICOT statement developed earlier in this course. The articles may include quantitative research, descriptive analyses, longitudinal studies, or meta-analysis articles. A systematic review may be used to provide background information for the purpose or problem identified in the proposed capstone project. Use the “Literature Evaluation Table” resource to complete this assignment.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

U.S. health care delivery system

One of the biggest complaints about the U.S. health care delivery system revolves around access to services. More specifically, too often, the high cost of health care is a barrier to its access. A key objective of health care reform efforts has been to expand access to quality care to more people. What will the effects of increasing access to health care be?
To prepare for this Discussion, consider this week’s Learning Resources.
Find an article that illustrates the potential positive and/or negative impact of increased access to health care services as a result of health care reform.

an explanation of the difference between one sample and two sample hypothesis testing

Problem 1
Write a brief explanation of the difference between one sample and two sample hypothesis testing?
Problem 2: T-test of means (one variable: testing sample measure as proxy for population)
Use the GSSFT (General Social Security Full Time) data set to complete the following problem.
Test the hypothesis that for all full-time workers, the population value for average hours worked is 40 hours (variable hrs1).  You will use the one-sample t-test.
a)  What assumptions do you need to use the one-sample t test? Do you think the data meet the assumptions?
b)  What is the null hypothesis that you want to test? The alternative hypothesis?
c)   Test the hypothesis and write a brief summary of your conclusions.
d)   Based on the 95% confidence interval for the mean difference, can you reject the null hypothesis that the average population value for hours is 43 hours? Explain.
Problem 3:  T-test means (two variables: testing sample measures as proxy for population in comparison to one another)
Use the Country data set to complete the following problem. Test the hypothesis that the average life expectancy for males is the same as the average life expectancy for females (variables: lifeexpm and lifeexpf). Use the paired samples t-test.
a)  What is the null hypothesis? What is the alternative hypothesis?
b)  Look at the distribution of the differences. Summarize your conclusions and state whether there is a statistical difference in life expectancies.
Problem 4
Use the 04cars dataset. Compute a new variable called markup = ((suggretail-dealercost)/dealercost)*100. You will use the “Transform>Compute Variable” dialog. You will test the hypothesis that Sports Cars have a higher markup than other cars.
a) Formulate the null hypothesis that you want to test? The alternative hypothesis?
b) Which type of t-test will be used to evaluate your hypothesis? What are you choosing this method?
c) Test the hypothesis and write a brief summary of your conclusions.
Problem 5
Use the School Salary data set.  You are asked to investigate if male and female school superintendents earn the same pay? Salaries for 20 males and 17 females in a certain metropolitan area are given in the school salary dataset. At α = .01, were the mean superintendent salaries greater for men than for women? Note that the gender variable is called male and is coded 0,1 (0 indicating female and 1 indicating male, using the coding protocol 0 is not and 1 is.)
(a) State both hypotheses (Ho and Ha).
(b) State the decision rule and sketch it as a bell curve diagram.
(c) Conduct an independent T-test of the above hypothesis and state your findings.
After completing the problems:
1.  Copy the relevant SPSS output to a MS Word document. (You can simply copy and paste or you can export the file while in SPSS.)
2.  Add your analytic comments to each problem prior to the SPSS output which it supports.
3.  Clearly number and label each problem in the document.
4.  Submit your assignment by uploading it to this site.
