Presentation: International Terrorist Group Journal Article Analysis-RJ2 WEEK 3
Presentation: International Terrorist Group Journal Article Analysis
Prior to beginning work on this week’s assignment, read the Chapters 4, 5, 6, and 9 in Martin (2016), and review Part I “How to read research articles on terrorism” in Capron and Mizrahi (2016).
This assignment is designed to contribute to your research for your final assignment, the Counterterrorism Strategy due in Week Six. The research conducted for this assignment may be used in your Weeks Four and Five discussions and interactive assignments as well.
Using the search for full-text scholarly journal articles related to terrorism theory and your chosen international terrorist group. It is recommended that you utilize the same search criteria on terrorism theory as outlined in the Interactive Assignment in Week Two, with the addition of your chosen terrorist group. As a reminder, follow these steps for your search:
· Select “Advanced Search”
· On the next screen, enter “terrorism” in the first search box.
· In the second search box, enter “theory.”
· In the third search box, enter the name of your terrorist group.
· To focus your search further, under the “Limit your results” heading, check the following boxes: “limit to full text” and “limit to scholarly/peer reviewed.”
· Finally, select the “Search” button at the top of the page.
· After your results appear, select the box next to “Academic Journals” under the “Limit by Source Types” heading.
Narrow your selection to three articles, of which you must select one for your International Terrorist Group Journal Article Analysis. The articles you select must be different from the ones you selected in Week Two.
Your chosen article should focus on at least one of the following elements: the underlying causes and effects of terrorism, the historical socio-political structures that contribute to terrorism, and/or the ethical and legal issues from either the perspective of the terrorist group or the government.
The Scenario. This interactive assignment is a continuation of last week’s assignment in that you will continue your role as a staff officer in your chosen federal department (the DHS, DOD, or DOS); however, the focus of this week’s journal article analysis must be on the international terrorist organization you chose in Week Two from the partial list of terrorist organizations adapted from the U.S. Department of State. As the staff officer from your chosen department, you will prepare a new presentation on this week’s chosen journal article to present to your Program Manager that is appropriate for use in developing and shaping a policy to counter terrorism efforts of a specific international terrorist group.
Your presentation must include a minimum of five sections, in addition to title and references slides. Each section must contain a minimum of one slide and a maximum of three slides. You may include visual enhancements in your presentation. These may include appropriate images, a consistent font, appropriate animations, and transitions from content piece-to-content piece and slide-to-slide.
For complicated issues you should script your comments in the speaker’s notes section of the presentation. You can find the speaker’s notes in the “Click to add notes” section at the bottom of each slide.
In the role of staff officer, you must convey the critical elements of this second scholarly journal article to your program manager. Your presentation must demonstrate your ability to write succinctly and effectively. Each slide should reflect distinct organizational and creative efforts.
Your presentation must adhere to the following:
· The first slide is the title slide which must contain the following
· Title of presentation
· Student’s name
· Course name and number
· Instructor’s name
· Date submitted
· The first section must address issues presented by your boss from last week’s presentation.
· In the second section, you must summarize the author’s credentials, briefly describe the publication, and include the full APA citation.
· The third section must summarize the author’s main points in the journal article.
· The fourth section should address how the article reflects at least one of the following as it relates to your chosen international terrorist group.
· The underlying causes and effects of terrorism
· The historical socio-political structures that contribute to terrorism
· The ethical and legal issues from either the perspective of the terrorist group or the government.
· In the fifth section, evaluate the chosen journal article’s contribution to the topic and how it aligns with the expert opinions of the two other articles you reviewed.

Curret And Emerging Technology
A disaster can have genuine negative effects for some organizations. Catastrophic events incorporate fierce blazes, surges, quakes, sea tempests and other comparable occasions. Operational calamities happen when organizations lose a critical supervisor or chief, business contracts are broken or business situations turn out to be extremely troublesome for working a business. Vast and private ventures frequently handle the impacts of debacles in an unexpected way. Bigger organizations may deal with debacles better since they have more accessible assets for reestablishing operations.
Regardless of whether it is a seismic tremor in Thailand, surges in China, or typhoons on the East Coast of the U.S., a cataclysmic event can rapidly bring about extreme harm, devastating organizations for quite a long time, weeks and even months. And keeping in mind that the effect is most prominent to organizations in the prompt region, organizations universally need to figure out what influence it will have on their organizations, as well.
A disaster can affect a business as for example the internet of the company goes down then all the live projects come to a stop. No one can use the computer and the product being developed gets delayed. This can lead to huge time delays and business losses until and unless the internet comes back to normal state. This is how a simple internet loss can lead to heavy losses.
The best solution is an internet backup option so that another connection can take over if one connection fails. This is why disaster recovery is very important.

Reflection
Nursing philosophy is a broad term encompassing many different views and ideologies. Every nurse and advanced practice nurse (APN) has a working philosophy that is used when caring and treating for the patient, family or community. As mentioned in the Philosophies & Theories for APN textbook, philosophy is derived from the Greek term philosophia meaning a love of wisdom and a love of critical inquiry (Butts & Rich, 2018). Being an APN, one needs to have an enjoyment of wisdom, continual learning and inquiry due to the ever-changing, healthcare environment.
The last 9 weeks of learning nursing theories of different theorist such as Florence Nightingale, Dorothea Rem and Hildegard Peplau have shaped and defined my own theories on advanced practice nursing. It seems that I do tend to pick bits and pieces from a lot of theorists and disciplines to help combine it to my own values and philosophies when working as a nurse. With models for practice, I do not believe that one really has a use for it in the “real nursing” world. In my years of experience as a nurse, I have never had a co worker, leader or hospital system bring up models for practice.
My philosophy as an advanced practice nurse has become more fine tuned and I am more cognizant of the importance of understanding the nursing theories. As an Family Nurse Practitioner I understand that I would be working with a diverse population and patients of a diverse age range, so being able to apply effective communication skills and cultural competence to all that I come in contact to is important. Often times I do remind myself that in nursing patients may forget about you as a nurse, however they will never forget how you make them feel and ultimately as an Advanced Practice Nurse I would like to promote holistic care that is empowering the patient towards achieving high level wellness.
