Take careful field notes on the following: a) Setting — Date, time, location b) Number of people – give a total and also a breakdown by gender, age, and any other characteristic that seems meaningful in this setting. 3) Spaces — Where were people clustered and/or activities taking place (e.g., living room, kitchen, swing-set, sandbox, bar, dance floor, basketball court, front stoop)? 4) Groupings of people – How were people divided up into smaller groups or clusters?
