Assignment 1: The CEO’s Challenge Due Week 3 and worth 150 points You’ve just left an all-hands meeting at your company*. The CEO was very upset at the rise of shadow IT projects – a major indicator that the company’s internal information system has failed to meet its needs. Because the current information system is inadequate, inefficient, and outdated, the CEO is inviting everyone in the organization to propose a new operational, decision support, or enterprise information system to replace it. The executives have allocated $5 million to fund the most promising idea. This is your chance to make a difference in the company (not to mention your own career). Write your proposal as a memo that the entire C-suite will review. Include at least these points, in your own words, to be persuasive: 1. Identify the main functions of your proposed information system and why they are important to the business. 2. Describe what types of data your information system will hold and how data quality will be ensured. 3. Explain how the old information system handles the functions you mentioned, the problems that occur, and why your information system will handle things better. 4. Offer evidence of feasibility: Show that similar information systems have been built successfully and that they save more money than they cost. The executives are busy, so keep your memo to 1-4 pages and avoid any extraneous content. *You may use a current or former employer, but do not disclose anything confidential. Or, you can pick another organization if you are familiar with their internal (not customer-facing) information systems. You can disguise the organization and populate it with famous names. Made-up companies are problematic because of the amount of detail and realism they require

Project
This project provides you with the opportunity to examine algorithms, identify the inaccuracies in the algorithms, and finally, to modify the algorithms with the correct details. Your next step will be to write an algorithm that includes the three control structures (sequence, selection, and repetition). First, explain the purpose of the algorithm by providing a brief description for the task being performed. Then, list the details of the algorithm. Remember to include all three control structures (sequence, selection, and repetition).
Select ONE of the following tasks as the basis for completing your algorithm:
Changing a television channel by using a remote control
Using a sponge to wash a car
Walking up a set of stairs
ITC 4210, Programming Concepts and Problem Solving 3
This document include two algorithms you will review, identify the inaccuracies, and insert the corrections. Additionally, there is a space for you to add the algorithm you will write. Complete your work on the template provided.

Information Systems – Products for which demand is predictable “Products for which demand is predictable and relatively stable are called staples. Products for which demand is unpredictable and which have relatively short life cycles are referred to as innovative products. Identify examples of staples and innovative products and explain whether MRP-II or JIT manufacturing is appropriate for each type of product. What other implications does the type of product have on the value chain activities of inbound logistics, production, and outbound logistics?”

You are tasked with the responsibility of communicating an As-Is (baseline) architecture to the leaders of an organization. In this particular case the architecture was captured and presented as a PDF document that includes high level information as well as some ArchiMate diagrams. The problem for the stakeholders is that the PDF document is very technical and hard to understand. Fortunately, the ArchiMate standard includes a viewpoint framework targeted at communicating the architecture to different stakeholders.
You are required to produce a executive report on the meaning of the As-Is architecture as captured for the case study presented (see appendix A). The report will serve to communicate the As-Is architecture to a specific group of stakeholders. The stakeholders are as follows:1. Strategic leadership (i.e the board of directors)2. CIO3. Application architects4. Systems architects
In order to produce the report, you must do the following:a) Capture the AS-IS architecture (based on the existing models) as completely as possible in the ArchiTool (used in your previous assignment)b) Understand the communication needs of every stakeholder in terms of the level of detailc) Decide on appropriate ArhiMate viewpoint for each stakeholderd) Write the reportPrepare the report that will be used to communicate the As-Is architecture (use the viewpoints that you created in the previous task) to the relevant stakeholders in terms of:a) Background informationb) Overview of the stakeholders and their concernsc) The purpose of each viewpoint (i.e. Designing, Deciding and/or Informing)d) The contents of each viewpoint (in terms of abstraction levels namely, Details, Coherence and Overview) – embed a diagram of the viewpoint in your reporte) Short narrative that explains the viewpoint
