supply chain week 6 DQs

Week 6 Questions
10-15 years ago, sustainable business development or business sustainability were rarely used terms – you could not find them in most business texts.  By 2000, few trade publications began to call out this “new” business perspective – some thought it was just the next new business fad or trend. But, is it really so “new” – is it a fad?  Why has this concept taken off so rapidly in the past 10 years?  How has it changed Operations and Supply Change Management?    Make sure you have read the specific requirements for your original posting and your subsequent peer responses. (450 words 2 citations) due in 48 hours Wednesday 6pm NYC time
What did you learn from this Supply chain Management?  What tools and techniques will you apply in your current or next management opportunity?  Make sure you have read the specific requirements for your original posting and your subsequent peer responses.  (400 words 2 citations) Due Friday midnight NYC time

It is important to understand all of the functions within a particular supply chain. Although most supply chains do have similar functions, the structure and elements can vary greatly. Therefore, it is important for you to not only be able to identify the various functions within a supply chain, but also how these connect and are managed.
This week, you will add 2 additional sections to your Supply Chain Process Improvement Proposal. The first will detail the various functions that are in typical supply chains and what functions are in the supply chain of the company you have chosen to study. The second part will explain third-party logistics services (3PLs), whether the company you have chosen uses 3PLs, and how 3PLs would or do benefit the company you chose to study.
Part 1
Create Section 3 of your Supply Chain Process Improvement Proposal: Organizations and Functions.

  • Describe and discuss the various organizations and functions within the supply chain.

Part 2
Create Section 4 of your Supply Chain Process Improvement Proposal: Third-Party Logistics (3PL).

  • Explain how 3PL services are used in your company and how these could be or are used to improve the supply chain for your chosen company.

Your instructor will provide feedback. Use this feedback to improve your plan and prepare your final Supply Chain Process Improvement Proposal.
