Children of Invention, Revisited

Morton Winston’s “Children of Invention, Revisited”
Our series of seven formal writing assignments is a developmental exercise designed to improve your analytical reading, writing, and thinking skills. For your first essay, please write a two- to three-page (600-900 word) response to the following questions:
In his final paragraph, Winston lays out an optimistic vision of how individuals in democratic societies can exercise their political rights in ways that help societies to make wise technological assessments and decisions. Your paper should address the first question listed below and–depending on your answer to that question–either the second or the third question: 1.Do you agree with Winston’s optimistic political vision? Why or why not? 2.If you disagree with Winston, please explain exactly where Winston gets it wrong – for example, is his optimism naïve or does he fail to consider important issues? 3.If you agree with Winston, please discuss whether–and, if so, to what extent–this sort of constructive political deliberation already occurs in our society?
Please ensure that your essay addresses each component of the assigned questions and that your answer is well-organized, uses excellent, college-level prose, and makes judicious use of textual evidence

Dispositional, Biological and Evolutionary Theory Blog

Write a blog about a Dispositional, Biological and Evolutionary Theorist. Choose a theorist you find interesting from Week 4’s readings (Allport, McCrae/Costa, Eysenck or Buss). You could even use your blog to debunk a theorist’s concepts. Do some research and find three concepts your theorist proposed and/or controversies about your theorist. Write three blog posts. Because blogs are often someone’s opinion, I give you permission to use first person pronouns and state your opinion about the theorist you are writing about. Work on making your blog interesting. Below I included some links to articles about writing a blog. You do not to worry about actually publishing your blog online. You do need to support your opinions with reliable and valid sources. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if anything I have said isn’t clear. Also, don’t miss that requirement to include a link to an outside website, article or book for every blog. It’s worth 1.25 point for every blog entry.

Compensation Philosophy

Compensation Philosophy Evaluate the current compensation philosophy for your organization or an organization of your choosing (from a third-person perspective). Write a three-to-five page paper (not including the title and reference pages). Your paper should be written in a scholarly third-person tone; it should be in APA format. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, your paper should address the following: Evaluate the organization’s current compensation philosophy and propose ways to enhance or revamp the current compensation philosophy to meet the changing needs of the organization and its employees.  Examine key factors within the internal and external environment including the mission and strategic focus of the organization, as well as the financial and cultural aspects of your organization (i.e., they cannot have a compensation philosophy where they “lead” the market if the organization does not have the financial resources) that should influence this philosophy. The proposed philosophy itself should be no more than a short paragraph.  Identify the key factors that should contribute to the organization’s development based on your proposed organizational philosophy. Remember to write from a third-person perspective. Do not include wording like “my company’s philosophy is …” Instead include wording like “XYZ Company Name’s philosophy is …” Remember to write about the company and the company’s philosophy; do not refer to you or your connection to the company.
In addition to the text, cite at least two scholarly references to support your discussion. Carefully review the Grading Rubric  (Links to an external site.) Links to an external site. for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your assignment
