While on routine patrol for the Any Town Police Department you notice a group of what appears be three underage male teenage kids and one female teen standing alongside the outside wall of a local convenience store in a poorly lit area. Since it is 1 AM in the morning on a Thursday night, which is in violation of your city ordinance regarding curfew, you decide to investigate. Each one has the potential to affect each of us on a daily basis, so careful consideration must be given when policies are proposed. It is important to understand the process of how a topic eventually becomes a policy.

Choose a health care topic for which a policy might be created.  Your topic should be rather narrow. For example, “women’s health” would be too broad, but a policy to encourage women to get mammograms would be narrow enough to apply the policy creation concepts discussed later in the class.

Submit a 350-word proposal for your chosen policy that explains your initial thoughts.

Obtain faculty approval for the policy that you have selected and on which you will complete your assignment for Weeks Three, Four, and Five.
