Where are you now, where do you want to be in 30 years, and how might you get there? This is NOT a “research assignment,” it is a challenge to DREAM STRATEGICALLY. DO NOT look on the web, do NOT look in any library about career planning, just THINK just DREAM. Talk to your husbands, boyfriends, kids, wives, teachers, bosses, coffee buddies, ANYBODY, but mostly talk to yourself. Then make a CHART OR OUTLINE, and fill it in with POSSIBLE STEPS that may take you from HERE AND NOW to THERE AND THEN.
Thinking long term is the starting point of strategy. Give it a try for your OWN life! Of course, NOBODY CAN PREDICT the future, so you cannot predict any path for your life. But you can sketch out some dreams. And any dream usually requires some preliminary steps, some preparation. Talk about things you may like to achieve, and talk about things you may attempt along the way, steps you might take, to help improve your chances to achieve your long term dreams. No footnotes, NO RESEARCH AT ALL. Just THINK, and WRITE. One more time, DO NOT look on the web. You should try to put your thoughts into 2 or 3 pages. The MAIN goal here is to get you in a frame of mind to think STRATEGICALLY, to think LONG TERM.

Examine Accuracy in Public Statements

M. G. Leyland, PhD, retired from his community college psychology instructor position and has applied for the position of Director of Psychological Assessment at Nature’s High Institute in a rural part of his state. The position requires expertise in personality and neuropsychological assessment. Dr. Leyland completed training in the Comprehensive System (Rorschach) and the Luria Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery years ago. He has not been actively using either for the past 25 years. In his application, he accurately states that he was trained on both of those assessments.Reviewing Standards on Competence and Advertising and Other Public Statements, present arguments for and against Dr. Leyland’s compliance with relevant standards. Be sure to include Standards 2.01, 2.02, and 5.01.
