There is a divide between the north and south when it relates to the health of populations in developing countries. The north consists of bigger nations such as the United States, China, and Britain. These countries are more developed. They also have more money which entails a better healthcare program. Countries in the south are still developing countries, such as India, Africa, and Guatemala. These countries struggle with healthcare so they have a higher rate of mortality at a lower age. People are living longer in developed countries because they are able to receive the needed healthcare. They are also provided with the proper medication and treatment because their country can financial afford it. Developing countries need to improve their health care systems. The webtext suggests that the developing countries should require low-cost preventative healthcare practices, keep health clinics open, and offer flour that is enriched with vitamins.

Week 7 Discussion 2
“Undercover Operations”  Please respond to the following:
· It is well known that undercover operations can be very dangerous for officers. Identify three (3) possible dangers that officers involved in undercover investigations might face. Next, suggest the mitigating actions that officers can take in order to reduce the dangers in question. Provide a rationale for your response.
· Imagine you are the director of a transit police department that is charged with securing both rail and bus services. Statistics show that you have major occurrences of robberies, juvenile violence, and illegal drug activities not only on the buses and trains operated by the transit authority, but also at the hubs where passengers migrate to board and transfer as they travel. Propose one (1) overall strategy in which you combine problem-oriented policing and investigation to tackle the identified issues. Provide a rationale for your response.

Undercover operations
Undercover officers face various dangers the first being the risk of being exposed which would put the lives of the officers in danger. Additionally, another danger is that of getting caught up in the illegal business or worse yet get addicted to the same drugs they are trying to prevent from getting to the streets due to the stressful nature of the undercover job (Plowman, 2013). The danger of being shot by other officers is another issue that affects undercover officers (Perritano, 2015). In regards to being shot by other officers, it would be necessary to develop a code or sign language that only officers can understand to help to show that one is an undercover officer. Being granted leave to rest can reduce stress among these officers and enhance their performance addressing the danger of falling victim to drugs. Developing an effective strategy such as sharing of information through secure networks can help to ensure that their identities are not exposed (Plowman, 2013). A problem-oriented policing approach and investigation of the identified issue involves assessing the cause of juvenile violence, illegal drug activities and occurrence of robberies on trains and buses. These approaches can help to identify the problem as lack of surveillance and lack of officers in these hubs thus implementing a solution that involves stationing more officers in hubs where passengers migrate to board and the installation of surveillance systems by business and trains to monitor activities.

Grant Proposal – Proposed Study, Budget, and Draft Grant Proposal

Grant Proposal – Proposed Study, Budget, and Draft Grant Proposal

This week you will write the Proposed Study and Budget sections of  your Grant Proposal. The Proposed Study section will resemble a typical  methods section like the one you would write in an empirical paper  (except that the data have not yet been collected). In this section you will describe the study that you are proposing to conduct to test your hypothesis.
You will also write the Budget  Justification section and the Budget for your grant proposal. The  Budget Justification section will contain a description of your proposed  budget including how grant funds will be used and justifying costs.  Proposed costs must be reasonable, necessary and allocable to carry out  the project’s goals and objectives.
The Budget, which will be Appendix A of your grant proposal, will follow the format of the budget in the Sample Grant Proposal Template (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., Appendix A . There is also a Budget Calculation spreadsheet (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. that you can use to determine the direct and indirect costs for your proposed study.
After writing the Proposed Study,  Budget Justification and Budget  sections, combine them with the completed sections you have done in  Weeks Two and Three (with feedback incorporated), and create the first  draft of your grant proposal. Submit your draft grant proposal this week  for the Week Five Grant Proposal – Peer Review assignment.
See the Grant Proposal Guidelines (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for detailed instructions on writing your grant proposal. See the Sample Grant Proposal Template (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. as an example of an actual proposal and use it as a template for your grant proposal.
