For the written Midterm, your task will be to write a 2-3 page, double spaced paper on a musical performing artist covered in chapter 2 or 3 of the Covach text. This paper should include a biographical overview of the artist you are writing about, in particular their career during the 50s and early 60s; for example, in writing about Elvis you would want to avoid discussing his career after 1963. For performing artists, listen to one or two of their songs (listed in the week 2 notes) and review them.
