experimentation and observation research techniques

You are the research manager within your organization, and you are
grappling with a problem that needs further research.
Your immediate supervisor is interested in using experimentation and observation research techniques in researching this problem and requests that you prepare a presentation to educate him on these methods. You are unsure whether using
these techniques would be adequate, but you set yourself on a mission to analyze the two research methods to provide him with the best information.
Compile a PowerPoint with your analysis of experimentation and observation as they apply to the field of Human Resources(your discipline). In your PowerPoint, be sure to
address the following questions/topics:
1. Describe specific experimentation and observational methods that could be
used within your discipline to gather data. Include your rationale.
2. Evaluate their effectiveness with respect to certain areas within your discipline.
3. Include company or organizational examples, as relevant.
4. In your opinion, are there any ethical implications with the use of experimentation and observational methods within your discipline?
Your presentation must be at least 12 slides in length (including a title slide and a reference slide).
In this presentation, you are required to use speaker notes. In the speaker notes, you will provide what you would say if you were actually giving the presentation to your supervisor. Please write your notes in complete sentences and adhere to typical grammar
and punctuation rules.
All sources used must be referenced ;paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations
. Be sure to use APA style for citations and references.

Writing about scientific principles and phenomena

Writing Assignment #1
Objective: Writing about scientific principles and phenomena is an increasingly important skill in the 21st century. This assignment is designed
to help you understand a major concept covered in this unit while also helping you develop your science writing skills. One key to effective
science writing is explaining how science can be used in everyday life. You’ll do this in a 500-600 word paper. You should:
1) Formulate and answer a question Sample questions
Select a concept that was covered in lecture and formulate a
question. Use this question as the title of your essay.
• What is gene expression and how is it applied in medical research?
• What are mutagens and why are they potentially harmful to DNA?
2) Answer your question in an essay Example of how to start an essay
Write a 500-600 word essay answering this question, by
summarizing the relevant information from class notes and the
textbook and defining any key terms or concepts. You should
attempt to organize the material in a meaningful way, rather
than simply listing the main facts or research findings.
Remember to summarize the material in your own words.
Finally, in a separate section after the end of your essay, list
what references (textbook page, lecture notes) you used to
help you answer the question.
• “Gene expression is the process by which the instructions encoded in DNA
are converted into functional products. Often, these products are proteins
such as enzymes, receptors, and hormones. However, DNA also contains
non-protein coding genes that produce functional RNA molecules including
ribosomal and transfer RNA.”
Page 2
3) Structure your essay as suggested below
• State your question in the title.
• 1st section: Give an overview of the answer to your question.
• 2nd section: Provide the scientific details of the answer to your question. Be sure to select the relevant information from class notes and the
textbook.
• 3rd section: Provide a conclusion.
This assignment requires that you formulate your own question and approach, so do not use the sample questions or specific examples provided
above for your paper. Great ways to start questions that will help you think deeply in this class include: How do/does ______? Why is/are
______? What is the difference between ______?
For this assignment, work independently and do the best you can; you’ll receive feedback on your work after it’s turned in.
Formatting Your paper should be 500-600 words, double-spaced and saved as a Word document (.doc or docx, no PDFs).
File Name To allow for anonymous grading, please only include your Red ID number (do not put your name in the document itself).
Blackboard will link your name and ID to your assignment.
Deadline and
Grading
Upload your document by the deadline: 11:59 PM, Friday, January 26, to the Writing Assignment #1 link here in Blackboard.
This assignment is worth 10 points and will be graded on the following: the quality of the question related to class content
(chapters 16-17, 21-24, 26-27), the quality of the scientific reasoning used to answer the question, and organization of the
paper.
NOTE: Failure to successfully upload the correct document will result in a grade of zero for this assignment.

higher education administiration

This journal is about:( important)
Week # 2: Ethical Conduct (How should people in higher education treat each other? What is moral relativism? What is beneficence? Which of the author’s aphorisms (pp 25-26) do you find compelling and why?
The journal will consist of three parts:
Part I: Discuss, define, and analyze the weekly discussion/ essential questions thoroughly. Cite research or other authority to support your position as needed.
Part II: Reflect, discuss, and analyze weekly reading assignments and/or work on class assessments. (For example, what positions from the readings do you agree with? Why or why not? Did anything surprise you? Are the authors’ positions relevant? What, if anything, is missing from the readings?)
Part III: Connect the class reading assignments and your reflections to professional practice. (For example, consider the following: How does this work affect your work in higher education? How does this relate to professional development work in your area of interest in higher education? How does your experience and course work relate to other educational issues in higher education at the state or national level? What opinions or issues are relevant to your work or of interest to you on a personal level?)

You work as R&D Group Manager at a US-based business applications company

You work as R&D Group Manager at a US-based business applications company.  It produces products that are sought after by small to medium sized businesses in the USA because the software allows them to compete on level footing with major multinational corporations.
Company CEO Mary Murphy has just returned from a relaxing and much needed vacation to Asia where she visited Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and mainland China.  She noticed a lot of growth and change happening there and wonders whether the company has done too little to enter and build market share there.  So she’s asked you to look into it and present your findings and recommendations to her decision-making team.

Learning project

Purpose: The major aim of the first learning project is to provide students an opportunity to apply their knowledge of hearsay exceptions relevant to cases involving allegations of child sexual abuse.
There are two parts to the project:
You will choose one of the three hearsay exceptions that are relevant to cases involving allegations of child sexual abuse. Next, you will write a vignette (i.e., short story, scenario) that illustrates an abuse disclosure that fits the exception. Details related to the context of the disclosure and statements made will help you with part two of the project (~1 double-spaced).
Explain the rationale for the hearsay exception you chose (i.e., if a statement meets the exception why is it considered more reliable than not?) Next, you will evaluate the degree to which the disclosure in your vignette meets the hearsay exception. For example, if you choose the excited utterance exception, you’ll consider the disclosure context and statements described in your scenario against the list of factors a judge uses to determine if statements meet that requirement. You should use course readings to support your response (Meyers, 2011 should be most helpful). (~2 pages double-spaced)
