Activity:
You will be conducting an ‘energy audit’ in the classroom and of your personal habits. The results you generate will serve to inform your audience, the faculty, staff and students utilizing the space, and advise them on their actions. When you are analyzing your results, you may find you are able to recommend improvements to reduce their impacts. Be careful to observe where behavioral and/or technological adjustments can be made.
Assignment:
You will be preparing an energy audit report to complement the in-class energy audit activity. Please write a 2-page report (total) summarizing the findings of the activity for the class room and for your personal habits. In your report, spend less time on the ‘process’ of the audit; rather be sure to emphasize the implications of energy audits. This may include commenting on the consumption patterns in the room, the impacts of choices made by both building planners and building occupants and the potential improvements you identified. Use the rubric to gauge your report writing.
